After its initial disinfection and inspection, our technicians tested the Barnstead MaxQ Mini 4450 incubator shaker with the following results:
- Heat tested to setpoint of +50°C; held steady for over 24 hours: PASSED
- Shaking tested from 15 rpm to 500 rpm: PASSED
There are two uncommon options on this shaker, a cooling coil (CC) and a gassing manifold (GM).
- The cooling coil requires an external chiller (not included) that then allows the chamber temperature to be cooled below the ambient temperature.
- The gassing manifold has a single external gas inlet port connected to 8 internal fittings to allow direct gassing into flasks for anaerobic cultures.
