After its initial disinfection and inspection, our technicians tested the Beckman Coulter ProteomeLab XL-I 70K Optima ultracentrifuge with the following results:
- Ran to 70,000 rpm: PASSED
- Refrigeration lowered temp. below starting temp.: PASSED
- Vacuum pulled down below 10 microns: PASSED
- No excessive noise or imbalance: PASSED
- Spun down properly: PASSED
- Performed inspection, no problem found: PASSED
This analytical ultracentrifuge will need PM performed by either a professional or someone with the knowledge of the optics, laser and camera.
This ultracentrifuge also comes with the optional Turbomolecular pump installed. The turbo pump is installed to prevent and limit oil in the system coating the inside of the centrifuge. This also relocates the vacuum release vent but does take longer to release the vacuum.
