This Ultima Plus chest freezer has been fully tested by our technical staff and is confirmed to hold steadily at the manufacturer's specification of -86°C. It's in excellent condition, with only minor wear on the outside and no staining or spillage inside.
After inspecting the freezer and noting no damage, we set about servicing it to ensure it would deliver the best possible performance. Our technicians performed the following maintenance:
- Purged 2nd stage compressor with nitrogen 3 times
- Recharged refrigeration system
- Installed new 12V battery
- Installed new condenser air filter
- Replaced some insulation
- Oiled casters
After servicing the freezer, it was tested in the following ways:
- Chamber holds at manufacturer specification of -86°C steadily: PASSED
- Amperage draw on both compressors is acceptable: PASSED
- Door opens/closes smoothly and stays up when fully opened: PASSED
- Temperature sensors in chamber and heat exchanger work properly: PASSED
- Fans spin smoothly: PASSED
- No leaks found in pressure test: PASSED
- Vacuum held under 200 microns for over 30 minutes: PASSED
