Are you ready for an upgrade in UV-Vis Detector?

Capillary and nano LC show advantages in points, such as dynamic range, sensitivity, throughput, and handling in comparison with 2D gel electrophoresis, and are beginning to be perceived as the useful analysis technique for modern proteomics.

The prerequisite to the performance of capillary/nano LC in proteom analysis are:

- The micro sized analytical system or on-line system can perform a pretreatment and a separation without sample loss
- The detection of a very small sample volume is possible with high sensitivities
- The optimal connection to mass spectrometry is possible. The monitoring detectors such as UV/Vis detector are also required for the above mentioned prerequisite, and are utilized for checking the condition of the peripheral instruments and assaying the impurities, which have a possibility of missing in mass spectrometry

At the present day, an on-column type of the flow cell is generally used as a UV detector for capillary/nano LC. This type of detector has a disadvantage of low sensitivity due to the short light path.

To achieve the improvement in sensitivity, and the shortest connection with mass spectrometry, GL Sciences developed the UV/Vis detector with an optical-fiber flow cell. The present purpose is verifying the performance of the unique UV/Vis detector.
