Our Packing & Shipping

We take care to ensure that your product will be as safe as possible during transit. Most products valued below $5,000 are shipped on reinforced pallets, while most products valued above $5,000 are shipped in custom crates. (Crates are also available for sub-$5,000 freight items for an additional fee.) Here's a rundown of each packing process.

Palletized Instruments

1. The pallet is reinforced with wood sheathing.
2. Support and tie-down boards are installed on the pallet. The tie-down boards are what the instrument will be stretch-wrapped to.
3. Either a layer of poly-planking or reinforcement boards  are added based on the instrument's weight. Instruments over 600 pounds receive reinforcement boards because they would sink too deeply into the poly-planking.
4. Load the instrument onto the pallet. We always ensure that no part of the instrument hangs over the edge of the pallet.
5. Any robotic arms and other moving parts are secured with shipping blocks.
6. Tubing, accessories, and cables are secured.
7. The instrument is wrapped in bubble wrap.
8. The instrument is stretch-wrapped to the pallet.

Crated Instruments

1. The pallet is reinforced with wood sheathing.
2. Support and tie-down boards are installed on the pallet.
3. Either a layer of poly-planking or reinforcement boards are added based on the instrument's weight. Load the instrument onto the pallet.
4. Moving parts and accessories are secured.
5. Wrap instrument in bubble wrap.
6. Stretch-wrap the instrument.
7. Crate walls with support boards are installed.
8. Crate lid is installed.
9. Crate is stretch-wrapped to secure shipping documents.
