After its initial disinfection and inspection, our technicians tested the BUCHI Rotavapor R-210 rotary evaporator with the following results:
- Rotation and speed adjustment: PASSED
- Motorized raise and lower function: PASSED*
- Low limit height adjuster: FAILED**
*The motorized raise and lower function works, but the slide button cap that goes atop the thumb switch is missing (see photo). It’s still functional, but if the switch isn’t treated gently, then the switch can become disconnected from the button.
**The low limit height adjuster doesn’t lock in properly, so it is not reliable to prevent the motorized lowering past a set height.
Notice! The glass support arm is missing a tab to connect one end of the band that secures the condenser (see photo). You’ll either need to replace the whole piece or create a tab by drilling a hole and inserting some material, such as a screw, to act as a tab.
