After its initial disinfection and inspection, our technicians tested the Beckman Coulter Avanti J-20 XP floor centrifuge with the following results:
- Ran to 20,000 rpm: PASSED
- Refrigeration held at -10°C: PASSED
- No excessive noise or imbalance: PASSED
- Spun down properly: PASSED
- Performed inspection, no problems found: PASSED
This centrifuge was an elutriation model but due to a hit on the top right side of the head that broke part of the board, I removed all the elutriation parts. After that, the speed sensor needed to be replaced, front head panel was replaced, rear head panel was repaired.
