Overview of Used Microfluidics LM10 Microfluidizer

Looking for a used Microfluidics LM10 Microfluidizer that delivers lab-grade cell disruption without the new equipment price tag? This pneumatically driven processor handles pressures up to 23,000 psi while maintaining the compact benchtop footprint your lab needs. The LM10 Microfluidizer processes samples as small as 30 mL, making it a practical choice when you're working with expensive biologics or limited cell cultures.

Whether you're developing new formulations or scaling up existing processes, this processor gives you consistent results you can validate and reproduce.

Microfluidics LM10 Microfluidizer Features

The LM10 stands out for its consistent performance across small-volume applications. Here's what makes this Microfluidizer worth considering for your bioprocessing work:

  • Pneumatic drive system: The air-powered pump maintains a steady pressure throughout each cycle, ensuring every particle receives identical treatment as it passes through the interaction chamber.
  • Temperature monitoring capability: Built-in thermocouple connections let you track sample temperature in real time, which helps protect heat-sensitive proteins and enzymes from degradation.
  • Fixed-geometry chamber: The ceramic H10Z interaction chamber uses microchannels to generate uniform shear forces, producing tighter particle size distributions compared to traditional rotor-stator homogenizers.
  • Scalable processing: Because interaction chamber geometry stays consistent across the Microfluidics product line, you can transfer your LM10 process parameters directly to higher-throughput models when production demands it.

Our Microfluidizer Testing Process

1. Microfluidizer technician inspects electrical components, verifying proper functionality. Rewiring is done if needed.
2. Microfluidizer technician performs a detailed inspection on the high pressure fittings, and proper tightness are ensured.
3. The low pressure fittings are then inspected for proper seal.
4. Microfluidizer technician inspects hydraulic and pneumatic systems for damage. Then the unit is turned on, to make sure it runs smoothly.
5. Microfluidizer technician changes hydro oil if necessary.
6. The unit is then run/sterilized with denatured alcohol.
7. The unit is then cleaned and stainless steel is polished.
8. Upon purchase by the customer, plunger seal(s) are replaced, to ensure a fresh seal when the customer gets it.

Our Microfluidics Microfluidizer Technician Checklist

At New Life Scientific, our technicians test each device thoroughly before shipping to verify performance and functionality. After our microfluidizer technician finishes the initial testing process, this Microfluidics Technician Checklist is filled out to record the important information gathered throughout the repair process. This checklist will be available publicly after the unit has undergone tech completion.

Microfluidics LM10 Microfluidizer Applications

The LM10 handles bioprocessing tasks where particle size control and cell disruption efficiency matter:

  • Cell lysis: Break open bacterial, yeast or mammalian cells to extract intracellular proteins, enzymes and nucleic acids with controlled shear that minimizes heat denaturation.
  • Liposome and nanoparticle prep: Create uniform lipid vesicles or nanoparticles for drug delivery research with narrow size distributions to improve batch reproducibility.
  • Vaccine production: Disrupt viral or bacterial cells for antigen preparation in workflows requiring sanitary design.
  • Emulsion formulation: Disperse immiscible liquids into emulsions for pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food applications.
  • Process development: Test formulation parameters at lab scale with shear rates that translate directly to production-scale Microfluidizer equipment.
