Microfluidics LM20 Microfluidizer Features

The electric Microfluidizer LM20 processes samples under high-pressure conditions. Operating at pressures up to 30,000 psi with a 14 mL minimum sample size, this benchtop unit handles liposome formation, cell lysis and emulsification.

Results scale directly to larger Microfluidics models for predictable transitions into pilot or production runs. The intensifier pump maintains constant pressure throughout processing.

This model sets itself apart with:

  • Intensifier pump technology: Deliver constant pressure through the Interaction Chamber, minimizing variability.
  • High-yield cell disruption: Achieve high-yield disruption in a single pass while limiting temperature rise.
  • Diamond or ceramic chamber: Fixed-geometry microchannels efficiently convert pressure into shear forces.
  • Digital pressure control: Set pressures while the stroke counter tracks usage and triggers maintenance reminders.

Our Microfluidizer Testing Process

1. Microfluidizer technician inspects electrical components, verifying proper functionality. Rewiring is done if needed.
2. Microfluidizer technician performs a detailed inspection on the high pressure fittings, and proper tightness are ensured.
3. The low pressure fittings are then inspected for proper seal.
4. Microfluidizer technician inspects hydraulic and pneumatic systems for damage. Then the unit is turned on, to make sure it runs smoothly.
5. Microfluidizer technician changes hydro oil if necessary.
6. The unit is then run/sterilized with denatured alcohol.
7. The unit is then cleaned and stainless steel is polished.
8. Upon purchase by the customer, plunger seal(s) are replaced, to ensure a fresh seal when the customer gets it.
