Here are the key features of a Microm HM550:

•  Options: The Microm HM550 series has the following options:

Option O for actual and set value of the specimen temperature.
Option M for motorized cutting drive.
Option V stands for vacutome that sets the vacuum for stretching sections and disposing of section waste.
Option P for active deep freezing device with Peltier element.

•  Cooling system: The Microm HM550 has a chamber temperature control of -10 degrees Celsius to -35 degrees Celsius and a specimen temperature control of +10 degrees Celsius down to -50 degrees Celsius. 

•  Sectioning: The Microm HM550 has a cutting mechanism with a fine sectioning thickness of 1µm to 100 µm range and a trim sectioning thickness of 5 µm to 500 µm range.

•  Ergonomic and Convenient: The HM 550 allows users to sit or stand and operate controls on the left and right of the arm rests. A convenient LCD display, movable chamber illumination to reduce glare and the ability to motorize sectioning by foot or hand reduce the fatigue associated with other cryostats.

Our Testing Process

1. Initial Performance Test: A performance test is conducted to verify that the refrigeration system is functioning correctly.

2. Disassembly and Cleaning: The unit is fully disassembled and cleaned using dry ice blasting. For units equipped with specimen cooling heads, all silicone lines are replaced and refilled with new silicone fluid.

3. Interior Maintenance: All interior panels are thoroughly cleaned and repainted. Silicone fluid is highly acidic, and leaks often result from poor routine maintenance.

4. Refrigeration Inspection: Pressure readings are recorded, refrigeration lines are reinsulated, and any non-cooling issues are diagnosed and repaired. Amp draw tests are conducted to verify that the compressors are operating within manufacturer specifications.

5. Functional Checks: All features are tested to ensure proper operation, including: defrost system, nebulizer, peltier element, vacutome, specimen cooling system.

6. Knife Assembly and Cutting Wheel: The knife assembly is removed, cleaned, and oiled for proper function. The cutting wheel is adjusted for smooth operation.

7. Final Assembly and Appearance: All exterior panels are reassembled. If necessary, the cryostat is repainted to restore its appearance.
