Homogenizers are designed to create a uniform distribution of a mixture with two or more materials that do not typically mix. For example, water and oil do not mix well. By putting both materials into a homogenizer, the device uses pressure, shearing and other processes to break down large particles until they are small enough to mix evenly with one another.
